Case Study #1

A senior non-profit leader was challenged with improving the organizational culture and increasing the teamwork in his non-profit organization. The need for this change was driven by performance targets and a strong desire to exceed Board expectations.  His first few efforts seemed to back fire. After working with an IWS Leadership Coach for 6 months, he was able to resolve the interpersonal conflicts that were preventing staff effectiveness and establish structures and processes to support an on-going, positive culture.  His board recognized his performance with a raise and upgraded his title.

Case Study #2

A government executive had previously been in behind-the-scenes roles — she had not given motivational talks to employees or managed personnel issues or formed a team, and now she was expected to do all of that exceedingly well. The pressure was building for her, and she was getting short-tempered, defensive and unresponsive to others requests for information.  Working with her coach helped her take better care of her own needs, focused her learning on specific skills and knowledge she needed to gain the confidence and competence to succeed.  This project took 8 months of regular coaching and on-going support, such as team retreats, and training to support her newly formed team.
