For several of our clients we have created web based Resource Libraries to support Peer Learning Groups with a central information repository to access agendas, reference materials, summary notes, and create an online dialogue with participants. The resource libraries accelerate learning by providing a productive efficient way to store and retrieve all relevant files, quickly providing access to the results of hard-won experience, tools and methods. Audio and digital recordings as well as case studies, presentations, briefs and tools can all be accessed on a customized web page.
Corporate Experience in Developing and Maintaining a Central Information Repository:
- Smart Start Colorado is a state and foundation-sponsored organization that emphasizes the importance of early childhood education and aims to better coordinate and streamline early childhood education information and resources for parents and families. As a subcontractor, IWS provided the graphic design, programming database creation and implementation support to create an interactive on-line library of resources for partners of Smart Start called a “systems-building toolkit.” The effort included coordinating with the technical staff of smart start, designing the site according to specifications and structuring the content so that it was accessible and comprehensive. The Smart Start Colorado home page is: http://www.smartstartcolorado.org/. The resource library is a secure site, accessible only to authorized users.
- The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) offers support to their members and Primary Care Associations. In 2006, a PCA Learning Team Library was created to consolidate resources from the Learning Teams, make them available in a central repository and provide opportunities for PCAs to interact and share resources at any time. The library can be viewed at http://www.pcalearningteamlibrary.org
- Integrated Work currently maintains an information library for the PCA Learning Team project sponsored by the Bureau of Primary Health Care, Health Resource Services Administration. This library is accessible only to authorized users.
